Wedding Bells

In the busy schedules of our day-to-day lives, visiting venues in person can really be a time-consuming task. Recognizing the obstacles, my app here serves as a one-stop solution, offering virtual venue tours and connecting couples with a wide range of vendors, including makeup artists, photographers, decorators, and even guest accommodation in hotels. Through this convenient platform, couples get to efficiently plan their magical wedding day stress-free while sitting in their homes online and ensuring a seamless experience. With all the arrangements made easy, they get to enjoy feeling like,” a guest at their own wedding.”

My role:

UX designer leading the app and responsive website design from concept to delivery.

Problem:

Busy couples and busy wedding planners need a well-customized and easy virtual wedding venue scheduling website/ app. They want to be able to choose their wedding venue without stressing about a shortage of time to meet their wedding date.

Challenge:

Create a website for a wedding virtual venue schedule that showcases all the wedding amenities, pricing, and vendors.

Solution:

Wedding Bells is a wedding venue booking and customized wedding ceremony preparations website that makes virtual tours to different kinds of venues and plans the different ceremonies included in the wedding. This platform is for people who have busy schedules or are short on time to prepare for their wedding. It also helps them arrange customized theme based based ceremonies, decorations, vendors, supplies, and more.

The goal:

Create a website for a wedding virtual venue schedule that showcases all the wedding amenities, pricing, and vendors. All the beautiful venues with explicit in-depth virtual tours for couples who wish to have beautiful weddings with elaborate exclusive details but are not able to meet their desires due to lack of time.

Research:

For this website design, I first conducted a research process which included primary research and interviews. In order to understand why would the users like to book a tour of the venue virtually and plan events online and what their struggles experienced while booking, pricing setting dates, etc.
My research included a virtual interview with 5 participants, studying different user groups, including Bride to be, the groom, the wedding planner, the event decorator, and the wedding photographer.

Mock ups

The main goal of this project was to learn how to use Adobe XD and create a responsive website on it. The design process involved many steps empathizing with the users designing their pain points, ideation, design solutions, wireframing, mockup prototyping, and user testing.I created the following mock-ups after conducting the usability study

High - fidelity mockups of different screen sizes

Takeaways:

This app and responsive website is created for busy users to book Venues for their wedding virtually and stress-free. Here they can save on time and also get personal assistants guiding all the arrangements required for the wedding like make-up artists, cake designers, decorations, hotels, wedding website creators, photographers, etc for their special moment in life.
Our users shared that the website has very engaging pictures and is very easy to navigate.

What i learnt

I learned that a good design for an app or a responsive website needs keen observation and consideration of the user needs, their pain points, and the user flow. It’s not about what you think is a great design it’s about how user-friendly is your design.
